Job Summary

Plan, organize, and present instruction for high school science (grades 9-12) with emphasis on differentiating instruction to meet diverse learners, leveraging technology and classroom tools, and managing instructional time and student behavior. Responsibilities include coordinating with a Teacher Assistant when applicable, collaborating with parents, teachers, administrators, and the community to enhance student learning, monitoring student performance, and using data to inform decisions. The role requires NC licensure for the assignment and a bachelor’s degree from an approved education program, with alignment to NC Standard Course of Study/Common Core and Essential Standards. Term of employment is 10 months with a salary scale supplement as defined by the NC Teacher Salary Scale + $2,000 supplement.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree from an approved education program in subject area
  • NC Teaching License or have qualifications to obtain a NC Teaching License
  • Current North Carolina Professional Educators license for area of assignment
  • Must hold or be eligible to hold a North Carolina Professional Educators license in Middle Grades Science Education (6-9)
  • Strong background in North Carolina Standard Course of Study/Common Core and Essential Standards
