Job Summary
4th Grade Science/Math Teacher responsible for delivering core academic instruction, developing standards-aligned lesson plans, assessing student learning, and supporting growth across intellectual, emotional, physical, and social domains. Responsibilities include planning and implementing lessons aligned to district curriculum and TEA guidelines, conducting ongoing assessments, modifying instruction with collaboration from special education staff to meet IEP goals, overseeing instructional aides/volunteers, and promoting professional growth through staff development. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and a valid Texas teaching certificate; duties include classroom management, parent communication, supervising extracurricular activities, and adhering to district safety and emergency procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan (DOI)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
