Science Intern (3 Month Internship)

Job Summary
Summer intern to support nature technology research and data methodologies, contributing to literature reviews, SOP design, data analysis, and science operations across ecosystems (mangroves, agroforestry, wildfire restoration, urban forestry, kelp). Role emphasizes research, copyediting, data QA, and documentation of processes for impact measurement in nature restoration. Requires a degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Sustainability, or related field; ability to synthesize literature; GIS familiarity; data analysis with Excel/Sheets and Python or R; strong scientific writing and communication skills. Paid days off; in-office 3 days/week in Vancouver area; 40 hours/week for up to 4 months; typical hiring range CAD 28–30 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Sustainability, or a related field
- Ability to synthesize peer-reviewed literature to develop white papers, reports, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Demonstrated interest in carbon, sustainability, forestry, nature tech, or restoration monitoring
- Basic proficiency in GIS tools and concepts required for georeferencing, digitizing, and editing spatial data
- Proficiency in basic data analysis tools (Excel, Google Sheets; Python or R)
- Demonstrated expertise in writing and communicating scientific ideas for diverse audiences
