Job Summary
High School Science teacher (Earth & Space Science) in South Bend, IN. Deliver Earth and Space Science instruction to grades 9-12, employing differentiated and cooperative learning strategies, and provide laboratory experiences (40–50%) along with a long-term inquiry project. Use data to guide instruction, collaborate in a Professional Learning Community, prepare lessons aligned to Indiana State Standards, participate in ongoing curriculum development, and engage in the 8-Step Process of instruction for remediation/enrichment. Ideal candidate will maintain effective communication with students and parents, foster a positive professional environment, and participate in Freshman Academy meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold a valid High School Level License/Certification in Earth and Space Science
- Must be Highly Qualified
- A Masters Degree or higher is preferred
- Previous experience teaching in an urban high-school setting is preferred
- Candidates must possess the ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty and administration
