Job Summary
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and Texas Education Agency guidelines while accommodating individual student differences. Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing to guide instructional strategies and modify curricula for special education students per Individual Education Plans. Manage classroom behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct, create a conducive learning environment, and oversee instructional aides and volunteers. Establish professional relationships with parents, colleagues, and community members, and assume responsibility for assigned extracurricular activities. Participate in staff development, faculty meetings, and committee work while complying with all state and district regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or related training and work experience for certification waivers
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
- Current automated external defibrillator (AED) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate
