Job Summary
The School Violence Interrupter will establish initial contact with youth at schools and in the community to assess needs and connect clients with behavioral health and intervention services, including crisis support, counseling referrals, case management, and coordination with partner organizations. Responsibilities include conducting outreach in high-need San Francisco neighborhoods, delivering holistic services to victims and families, coordinating with CYC programs and external providers, facilitating mediation and reintegration efforts, organizing cross-cultural trainings, participating in trainings and meetings, building partnerships with law enforcement and families, maintaining case notes and program statistics, assisting with event planning to promote violence prevention within the AAPI community, and performing other duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social services or related areas or a Minimum of two years of experience conducting street outreach, conflict mediation, and crisis response
- Experience working with San Francisco’s diverse communities and neighborhoods
- Knowledge of the San Francisco Criminal Justice System, familiarity with community-based organizations within the city, and understanding of the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) system
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities, along with proficient computer skills
- Strong organizational, collaboration, and facilitation skills
- Able to lift or move at least 25 lbs.
- Bilingual in Cantonese or Mandarin and English is PREFERRED
- Ability to work some evenings, weekends, and outdoor activities
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean DMV driving record to pass insurance requirements for company van usage
