Job Summary
Safely transport students in a school van on a regular route, perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, assist students with loading/unloading, maintain a professional and respectful attitude toward students and school personnel, conduct emergency evacuation procedures, clean the van interior and exterior, and follow route sheets/electronic routing devices. Requires good verbal communication, ability to work early mornings, and a valid driver's license (no CDL required). Familiarity with OSHA guidelines and company policies expected.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Driver's license & other state or local permits as required
- No CDL required
- Good verbal communication skills
- The ability to work early morning hours
- Must be able to work without direct supervision
- Dress in a professional and appropriate manner for a business environment
- Perform all job functions in the safest manner adhering to OSHA guidelines & other applicable Federal & State laws
- Ability to use or learn to use internet, additional programs as required and office equipment
- Pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the van
- Assist students in loading and unloading
- Safe operation of a van
- Read and understand street signs, route sheets and maps
- Attend safety and training meetings
- Emergency evacuation from the van
- Clean interior and exterior of the van
