Job Summary
Conduct safe, timely transportation of students to and from school while adhering to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and local policies. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections covering lights, brakes, tires, and emergency exits. Assist students in boarding and exiting, including securing wheelchairs or mobility devices, while maintaining an orderly environment inside the vehicle. Report behavioral issues, delays, mechanical defects, or accidents to dispatch and management in writing or immediately as required. Navigate assigned routes and schedules, attend mandatory safety meetings, and participate in emergency evacuation drills. Keep vehicles organized and clean through sweeping, dusting, and window cleaning. Work without direct supervision across assigned routes, with a minimum hourly rate of $16.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a minimum of 3 years of satisfactory driving history
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug screening
- Ability to pass initial and routine physical examinations and drug/alcohol screening programs
- Comfortable using or learning fleet and workforce technology systems such as Samsara (GPS/vehicle tracking) and Dayforce (scheduling/HR)
- Must be able to work without direct supervision
- Must be able to manage time effectively across assigned routes
- Must be able to dress in a professional and appropriate manner for a business environment
- Must be able to withstand varying indoor/outdoor conditions, including extreme temperatures and adverse weather
