Job Summary
As a Part Time School Van Driver for First Student, you will safely transport students to and from school and activities, supervise boarding/unloading, assist with seatbelts and mobility aids, and conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections. The role offers flexible split shifts (AM/PM), training and development opportunities across over 540 locations, competitive hourly pay of $22 with a training rate of $21.50, and benefits including medical/dental/vision/Life insurance, 401(k) with company match, and EAP. You will communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch about delays or student behavior, upholding safety standards and customer service excellence in a community-focused environment.
Required Qualifications
- At least 21 years old
- Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years
- Ability to transport students safely to and from school
- Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Must meet DOT safety-sensitive requirements
- Willingness to undergo DOT drug testing per 49 CFR Part 40
