Job Summary
Meet new students on admission and conduct individual, family, and group psychotherapy sessions as specified by IEP/Care Plans. Complete initial assessments, trauma screenings, and psychosocial evaluations within ten days of admission, then document all therapeutic sessions within 48 hours. Act as a member of the IEP/Care Plan committee with the School District, DHS, and community programs to coordinate discharge and aftercare plans. Attend weekly supervisory sessions, maintain professional licensure, and perform monthly chart audits to ensure timely documentation. Assist teachers and support staff with behavior plans and communicate client progress to the team.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in an applied mental health field
- Minimum of two years of experience in outpatient or residential services
- Mississippi Licensed in mental health field
- Demonstrated competence working with families and youth
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Must be able to communicate in a therapeutic and professional manner
- Must have the physical ability to assist in the physical or therapeutic hold of youth when required
- Must be able to respond quickly to emergencies
- Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds
