Job Summary
Adapt classroom work to support and reinforce lesson plans while administering tests and monitoring student progress under teacher supervision. Implement learning and behavior plans, lead small groups, and provide individual or booster instruction to improve academic success. Monitor students across various settings including classrooms, playgrounds, and field trips to ensure safety, and disinfect areas between use. Prepare teaching materials, grades, and attendance records to document progress, and report incidents such as fights or suspected abuse to maintain student safety. Perform clerical functions like scheduling, data recording, and answering phones, while assisting other personnel with activities and meetings.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Hold or obtain CPR/First Aid certification with in six months of hire
- Ability to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and ratios
- Knowledgeable of age-appropriate activities; stages of child development; classroom management techniques; developing effective lesson plans; and planning and managing time effectively
- Ability to operate standard office equipment (e.g., phone, copier, scanner, fax machines, etc.)
- Selected candidates to be fingerprinted and successfully pass a criminal background check
