Job Summary
School Social Worker (SSW) needed for the school year. Responsibilities include providing social-emotional support and counseling to students both individually and in groups; conducting assessments/evaluations to identify student needs and develop intervention plans; developing and implementing IEPs and 504 Plans; collaborating with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams; crisis intervention and support for students facing trauma or life challenges; connecting students and families with community resources; maintaining documentation per Michigan Department of Education and IDEA guidelines; participating in IEP meetings, student evaluations, and behavioral intervention planning; educating and supporting teachers on mental health awareness and classroom behavior management strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
- Michigan School Social Worker License (SSW) or Temporary Approval (310 letter) issued by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE).
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Limited Licensed Master Social Worker (LLMSW) preferred.
- Fingerprint Clearance & Background Check required.
