Job Summary
Provide social-emotional support and counseling to students in individual and group settings; conduct assessments and evaluations to identify student needs and develop intervention plans; develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans to support student success; collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to address behavioral, emotional, and academic concerns; provide crisis intervention and support for students experiencing trauma or significant life challenges; connect students and families with community resources and social services; maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with Michigan Department of Education (MDE) and IDEA guidelines; participate in IEP meetings, student evaluations, and behavioral intervention planning; educate and support teachers and staff on mental health awareness and classroom behavior management strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- Michigan School Social Worker License (SSW) or Temporary Approval (310 letter) issued by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE)
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Limited Licensed Master Social Worker (LLMSW) preferred
- Fingerprint Clearance & Background Check required
