Job Summary

Conduct home visits, assessments, and case management to empower students and families in accessing resources for academic success. Provide individual and group counseling, coordinate services with community agencies, and facilitate referrals for behavioral modification plans. Serve as a liaison between school, family, and community while assisting parents in utilizing school and community resources to maximize educational abilities. Address barriers to learning through prevention and intervention programs, conflict resolution, and adherence to federal, state, and local laws regarding child protection and special education. Maintain professional development by attending conferences and staying abreast of current research to support diverse student needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above in School Social Work from a regionally-accredited college or university
  • North Carolina Professional Educator's License in School Social Work
  • Interested individuals without this license, but with a Bachelor's degree or above in Social Work may qualify for a provisional license in School Social Work
