Job Summary
The School Social Worker at Great Oaks Legacy Charter School will provide individual and group counseling, serve as case manager for students with IEPs, and collaborate with school leadership and external providers to enhance student support. Essential responsibilities include conducting crisis interventions, completing documentation, developing social histories, and offering workshops on child social/emotional development. Candidates must hold an MSW degree and NJ School Social Work Certificate, with preferences for LMSW or LCSW licensure and knowledge of NJ Special Education Law. A relentless commitment to urban education and strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- MSW degree
- NJ School Social Work Certificate
- Minimum one year of relevant experience
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work with parents, students, faculty, and community groups
- Demonstrated ability to analyze student growth and performance data
Desired Qualifications
- LMSW or LCSW licensing preferred
- Knowledge of NJ Special Education Law and Case Management Duties
- Training in Functional Behavior Assessment and Behavior Intervention Plans
