Job Summary
Evaluate eligibility for special education services and placement as a member of the IEP team; assess social and emotional development, mental health status, and adaptive behavior relevant to case study evaluations; use a holistic approach to assess cultural, environmental, and socio-economic factors; determine related service needs (e.g., social work, counseling, consultation) and set goals/objectives aligned with special education eligibility; collaborate with school staff on functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans; share assessment findings during IEP meetings and conferences; provide individual, group, or evidence-based curriculum instruction as required by the student's IEP; deliver direct social work services to students; requires Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) and State License as a Social Worker (if required); Educational/Teacher Certification (if required by state department of education).
