Job Summary
Conduct psychosocial and functional behavior assessments to determine special education eligibility and implement therapeutic strategies for students facing social-emotional barriers. Serve as a liaison between families, schools, and community agencies to mobilize resources and foster collaborative educational planning. Provide individual and group counseling, conduct classroom observations, and lead psycho-educational social skills groups to promote student wellness. Actively participate in IEP, RTI, and 504 teams to develop interventions, while delivering staff consultation and parent workshops on child development and crisis management. Maintain clinical records in adherence to FERPA and HIPAA standards. This role supports the Whole Child Supports department at Reynoldsburg City Schools, requiring a Master's in Social Work and valid Ohio licensure.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited university
- Valid Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) issued by the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board
- Valid Ohio Department of Education and Workforce Pupil Services License in School Social Work
- Successful completion of required BCI and FBI background checks
- Knowledge of Ohio School Law, IDEA, and Section 504 regulations
- Knowledge of Social-emotional learning (SEL) frameworks and trauma-informed care
- Knowledge of Community resources and social service systems within Central Ohio
- Clinical counseling techniques for individuals and groups
- Conflict resolution, crisis de-escalation, and mediation
- Ability to Build rapport with diverse student populations and families
- Ability to Work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Ability to Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community partners
- Must be able to push, pull, lift and carry over 25 pounds on occasion
- Must be able to interact with unruly children
- Driving requirement to various school sites or events
Desired Qualifications
- Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervision designation (LISW-S)
- Previous experience providing pupil services in a K-12 public school setting
- Proficiency in conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and developing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
