Job Summary
Provide group and individual counseling sessions and classroom support to special education and general education students as mandated per IEPs. Develop and monitor student responses to behavior intervention plans, conduct functional and risk assessments, and complete psychosocial assessments to determine special education services. Establish relationships with students and parents, assist in identifying community resources, and provide staff consultation on behavioral-emotional-environmental issues. Deliver crisis intervention services and maintain state-required clinical records while participating in student IEP meetings and school planning.
Required Qualifications
- Valid licensure for the state they are working in
- Master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution
- School Social Worker Special Services License issued by the Colorado Department of Education (CDE)
- Social Worker License issued by the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA)
- Certified School Social Work Specialist Certificate issued by the National Association of Social Workers
