Job Summary
School Social Worker for 12-month term serving Loudoun County Public Schools. Provides individual and group counseling for students in grades K-12; delivers classroom and community presentations on mental health topics; conducts parent interviews for possible special education services; participates on multidisciplinary teams; provides referrals and case management for Homebound, McKinney-Vento, Foster Care, and other programs; links students and families to community resources; facilitates Restorative Practices and participates in PBIS, bullying prevention, and crisis intervention activities; collects outcome data on programs. Requires MSW and eligibility for Virginia Pupil Personnel Services License with School Social Worker endorsement; 1 year of relevant experience. Remote work is not applicable; localities are Broadlands, VA. Reports to Supervisor, Student Support Services; auxiliary salary level. FLSA exempt; 12 months, 254 days, 8 hours per day.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited College or University
- Holds or is eligible for the Virginia Pupil Personnel Services License with an endorsement of School Social Worker
- One (1) year of successful experience as a School Social Worker or Social Worker Intern
- Knowledge and skills in counseling, crisis intervention, case management, collaboration with families and community resources
- Experience with Restorative Practices and PBIS
- Ability to plan, implement and analyze programs and interventions
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Ability to work with students in grades K-12 and coordinate with school staff and community
