Job Summary
Responsible for monitoring the school property and ensuring a safe environment. Duties include conducting regular walkthroughs, resolving unsafe situations, maintaining records of security incidents, and communicating effectively with students to de-escalate conflicts. Assist in emergency planning and administer first aid as necessary. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to resolve disputes, and relevant certification for first aid and CPR are required.
Required Qualifications
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with others in difficult or confrontational situations.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Good basic business writing skills as acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Physical/motor skills sufficient to allow the employee to move throughout the building quickly.
Desired Qualifications
- Prior training in dispute resolution, mediation, and/or appropriate procedures to restrain students would be helpful.
- Certification to perform first aid and CPR.
- Prior relevant work history such as experience in security, law enforcement, or school discipline.
