Job Summary
Conduct patrols of the building and grounds to prevent disruptive acts and ensure compliance with school policy. Check parking areas, entrances, restrooms, cafeterias, and remote zones while monitoring visitors to verify they report to the office and leave the premises. Confer with students regarding improper behavior and direct them to appropriate instructional areas. Monitor security cameras, review tapes to identify incidents, and maintain records of contacts and activities. Respond to fire alarms, medical emergencies, and other service calls, reporting building conditions or safety concerns to the Director of Safety or principal. This 12-month full-time role starts at $21.11/hour and reports to the Director of Security at Academy Park High School.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year experience in security or law enforcement
- Must be professional
- Must be dependable
- Must be team oriented
- Ability to reach above and below the waist
- Ability to use fingers to pick, feel and grasp objects
- Some stooping, kneeling, bending, and twisting of the body required
- Ability to lift and/or carry supplies weighing no more than 50 lbs
- Ability to mostly walk with some sitting and standing or moving throughout the work environment
- Ability to provide safe physical management (restrain) of students when necessary
Desired Qualifications
- College degree
- Two to three years' experience in security or law enforcement
