Job Summary
School Security Officer assists the Principal and Safety and Security teams to maintain a safe school environment, enforces conduct regulations, responds to losses or violations, helps deter trespass, serves on the threat assessment team, provides supervision and mentoring to students, coordinates safety training, and liaises with law enforcement and safety officials. Requires ability to enforce regulations, communicate with students and staff, supervise intervention plans, and prepare clear reports; Education: High school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree preferred); Licensure: valid driver’s license; Experience in supervision of school-age individuals in law enforcement/security/education contexts; 10-month, 197 days, 7-hour days schedule; salary range $35.52–$45.84 per hour (annualized to $73,881.60–$95,347.20). Generates and maintains safety plans and supports crisis management activities on campus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Current valid driver’s license
- Experience supervising school-age children or young adults in security or related fields
- Ability to enforce regulations and communicate effectively
- Ability to prepare reports and supervise students
