Job Summary
Stand guard at security posts, directing visitors, issuing access badges, and providing escorts. Conduct foot patrols in accordance with post orders, log visitor data and reports in the security computer system, and respond to alarms and emergencies as directed. Look for and report potential safety hazards while following all client site-specific duties outlined in post-orders. Maintain a positive work atmosphere by interacting with internal and external customers respectfully. Work additional hours to fill open shifts, cover call-offs, and accommodate vacation leaves with little to no advance notice. This As Needed position requires flexibility with 1st and 2nd shifts and frequent travel throughout the Chicagoland area.
Required Qualifications
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be willing to work FIRST AND SECOND shift
- Must be flexible with scheduling
- Must be dependable
- Must have excellent customer service skills
- Must have great oral and written communication skills
- Must have a positive attitude
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must pass a background check and drug screen
- Must possess the values important to Per Mar Security – Integrity, Communication, Excellent Service, and Accountability
- Must be willing to participate in the Company's pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation
- MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ALL SHIFTS
- WILLING TO TRAVEL THROUGHOUT CHICAGOLAND AREA & SUBURBS IF NECESSARY
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or other related fields
- Familiarity with security equipment
- Ability to handle physical workload
- Strong attention to detail
