Job Summary
Conduct law enforcement activities within the school environment, including mentoring students, arbitrating disputes, and providing crime prevention and public safety services. Manage rapid performance of specialized duties under normal and emergency conditions, which may involve threats to personal safety, apprehending criminals, and directing traffic. Exercise independent judgment and discretion while adhering to Florida State Statutes and departmental policies, with work reviewed through observation and written reports. Maintain a valid Florida Law Enforcement Officer Certification, two years of police experience, and a clear driving record.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited high school supplemented by course work at a police training school or academy
- current State of Florida Law Enforcement Officer Certification in good standing
- minimum of two (2) years of Police Officer experience
- valid State of Florida Driver's License
- good driving record
- citizen of the United States at the time of application
- good moral character as defined by Florida Administrative Code 11B-27
- not have been dishonorably discharged from the military
- no open Internal Affairs Investigation
- no failed Town of Davie Background Investigation, Oral Board Interview, Polygraph or Psychological Exam within the past year
- no felony convictions
- no driver's license suspensions within five (5) years of the date of this application
- no steroid usage within five (5) years of the date of this application
- no DUI arrest and/or conviction in the last five (5) years
- no visible tattoos above the collarbone on the neck, face, head, scalp or on the hands
- no used any illegal controlled substances within three (3) years of the date of this application
- no used any tobacco products within six (6) months of the date of this application
