Job Summary
Enforce local and state laws and county ordinances relating to public safety with a primary focus on school security. Responsibilities include patrolling assigned school areas, apprehending violators, providing law enforcement services for the school, scheduling off-duty deputy coverage for school functions, collaborating with school administrators to address safety concerns, conducting periodic security assessments, and performing call-duty in varying environments. Must hold a certified Class 1 Officer credential from the SC Criminal Justice Academy and possess or obtain School Resource Officer certification within the specified timeframe. Demonstrated ability to work independently, engage well with juveniles, and manage confidential matters is desired.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Class 1 Officer from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy
- School Resource Officer certification from the SC Carolina Criminal Justice, or ability to achieve certification within a specified timeframe
