Job Summary
Conduct psychological and educational evaluations for students ages pre-school through 22 years old across public, private, and parochial schools in Boston. Deliver diagnostic, prescriptive, and remedial services individually or in groups while participating in Individualized Educational Planning Meetings to produce comprehensive educational plans. Provide consultation to teachers and professionals for classroom screening and effective educational strategies, alongside prevention and counseling services in small groups. Serve as a member of the crisis response team and the AAF Service Team, working cooperatively with the Office of Special Education and Student Services to enhance services for all students.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed as a School Psychologist by the Massachusetts Department of Education
- Demonstration of competency in the theory, administration, and interpretation of recognized standardized instruments
- Ability to efficiently write comprehensive and informative reports that contain appropriate educational goals
- All reports must be computer generated in English
Desired Qualifications
- Background and experience in an urban setting providing educational and psychological services
- Licensed Educational Psychologist
- Candidates who speak another language
- Fluent in one of BPS' official languages: Spanish, Creole (Cape Verdean), Creole (Haitian), Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, & Somali
- Certified in their subject area
- Moderate Disabilities certification
- English as a Second Language (at the appropriate grade level(s)) certification
