School Psychologist

Provide psychological assistance to students exhibiting a need for such support. Attest to qualifications for handicapped or gifted program placements in accordance with Arizona state standards. Administer tests, recommend special needs placements, and assist in writing individual educational placement prescriptions. Screen, identify, and refer children with learning disorders while conducting legally required staffings prior to placement. Consult with teachers, administrators, nurses, and physicians to facilitate the student learning environment. Conduct follow-up evaluations, maintain student records, and prepare required reports to the Director of Pupil Services. Participate in workshops and in-service training to apply new field developments.
