Job Summary
School Psychologist for 2026-2027 responsible for assessment, interpretation of test data, development of psychological evaluation reports and behavior management plans, ARD/IEP participation for student placement, potential case management, and counseling services. Performs group, individual, and family counseling; provides mental health consultation to instructors; collaborates with staff on behavior intervention plans; delivers staff development on emotional, social, and behavioral disturbances; maintains documentation and complies with federal/state regulations. Travel districtwide between campuses; position located in Melissa ISD Special Education.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in psychology from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas license as a licensed specialist in school psychology granted by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists
- Knowledge of assessment procedures for intellectual, emotional, and behavioral functioning for educational purposes
- Knowledge of prevention and intervention strategies, including behavior management interventions
- Knowledge of psycho-social development
- Strong consultation skills for conferencing with teachers, parents, and students
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
