Job Summary

Coordinate school programs for refugee youth through in-classroom support, after-school tutoring, and summer language intensive sessions. Collaborate with school districts, administrators, and partners to deliver coordinated services, while reinforcing instructional material and providing career counseling to students. Engage parents in learning activities and advocacy to enhance integration, and maintain partnerships as an ambassador among all groups. Track outcomes, compile data for funding requirements, and ensure services meet quality assurance standards and HIPAA protocols. Requires a valid driver's license for regional travel and client transport.

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of currently available community resources, services, and supports
  • Ability to connect individuals or families to appropriate resources to meet their needs through referral, application, or enrollment assistance
  • Skills and sensitivity in working with individuals and families from a variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds
  • Ability to communicate professionally and cooperate with colleagues, other professionals, community partners, and other individuals involved in the care and coordination of services
  • Ability to maintain thorough and timely documentation of activities, services, and efforts
  • Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do
  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Builds trust and effective working relationships with coworkers, clients and community partners
  • Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the subjects being taught in high school
  • Knowledgeable on current curriculum and teaching practices
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license
  • Must carry personal auto liability insurance at the level of $100,000/300,000/100,000
  • Associate's degree in a related field
  • Two years of related experience in a setting working with youth
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
