Job Summary
Lead and facilitate organized games and physical activities during school recess periods while supervising students to ensure a safe, respectful environment. Set up and break down activity equipment at the start and end of each session, encouraging participation across all skill levels and managing behavior through positive reinforcement. Coordinate with fellow coaches to ensure smooth daily operations and track attendance to complete daily reports documenting activities, participation, incidents, and behavioral notes. Represent the program professionally in all interactions with students, school staff, and parents. This part-time, school-year position offers an hourly rate of $21-23/hr with paid sick leave, requiring CPR/First Aid certification and background clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Experience working with elementary-age children (school, camp, youth sports, or similar setting)
- Strong communication and classroom/group management skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working independently
- CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain prior to start date
- Cleared through DOJ/FBI background check (required for all school-based staff)
