Job Summary
Review physician referrals, nursing charts, and individual education plans to evaluate student strength, motor development, and functional capacity. Plan written treatment programs, administer manual exercises, and instruct students and families on home procedures while monitoring progress for IEP purposes. Assist students in navigating school environments using devices like crutches or canes, and supervise assigned physical therapy assistants. Maintain daily access to a personal vehicle for transporting students and complete required CALM training on deescalation strategies. This role supports the educational and residential mission of Wildwood Programs by ensuring inclusive, active participation for children with disabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's (B.S.) or Master's (M.S.) degree in physical therapy
- 2 years related experience and/or training
- New York State License as a Physical Therapist
- A valid New York State Driver's License
- ability to drive
- driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage
- daily access to their own vehicle
- complete, pass, and use CALM training
