Job Summary
Teach in clinical skills and simulation laboratory nursing settings to include prebriefing, debriefing, evaluation of performance using competency-based rubrics, provide formative feedback and coaching, and collaborate with clinical laboratory operations staff to ensure efficient and safe learning environments. Teach in hospital-based settings to supervise students in direct patient care, plan and coordinate patient care experiences aligned with program outcomes, provide real-time observation and coaching for safe practice; collaborate with clinical partners to foster academic–practice relationships; evaluate student performance using standardized tools and narrative feedback. Participate in course and curriculum development, simulation scenario development and refinement, and participate in service-related activities to support the school. Engage in clinical practice through the KU School of Nursing Faculty Practice plan.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Masters degree in nursing
- License: Possess a registered nurse (RN) license from the Kansas State Board of Nursing (or be eligible for RN licensure in Kansas)
- Work Experience: Three years of clinical practice experience
