Job Summary
Teach neurologic physical therapy courses and assist the Director of Clinical Education in delivering high-quality clinical experiences. Develop, update, and evaluate course materials while advising students through mentorship and regular office hours. Engage with clinical partners, the Simulation Center, and the Thrive Rehabilitation Center to enhance experiential learning. Contribute to curriculum development, shared governance, and department committees including Faculty Senate representation. Advance scholarship consistent with the Boyer Model, covering teaching, integration, application, discovery, and engagement. Submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, and professional references for interview consideration.
Required Qualifications
- Eligible for licensure as a Physical Therapist in New York State
- Earned Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (DPT)
- Advanced specialty certification or a research/academic doctorate (NCS, PhD, EdD, DSc, etc.)
- Minimum of five years of clinical experience
- Student supervision experience
- Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, written, and verbal communication
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Maintaining currency in neurologic practice
- Maintaining currency in clinical education principles
- Ability to create culturally responsive, inclusive learning environments
- Skill in collaborative teamwork
- Navigating diverse perspectives productively
- Experience using innovative, evidence-based teaching and learning strategies
- Ability to support accreditation processes
- Continuous program improvement efforts
- Legal authorization to work in New York State
