Job Summary
12-month, full-time Department Assistant at the School of Education, University of Wisconsin–Platteville. Provides administrative support to the faculty, staff, and Director, serves as the school’s primary point of contact, coordinates office operations, scheduling, events, projects, and related logistics, maintains records and digital resources, develops workflows to improve processes, assists with troubleshooting and office technology, monitors budgets and expenses, oversees front office operations, and supervises student workers. Requires an Associate's degree and at least two years of administrative/office experience; proficient with Microsoft Office and willing to learn university software. Salary: $20.50 hourly.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of two years of experience working in an administrative or office environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Willingness to develop proficiency with specialized university software programs necessary to perform the duties required for this position
- Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and confidentially with students, faculty, staff, administration, and external constituents
- Ability to troubleshoot administrative and technical issues
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
