Job Summary

School-based Occupational Therapist provides direct OT services aligned with IEPs and individualized support plans, supporting students’ fine motor, sensory, self-care, adaptive, and functional skill development; conducts evaluations, re-evaluations, screenings, and progress monitoring; delivers services in classroom, small group, and one-on-one settings; collaborates with teachers, administrators, and related service providers; participates in IEP and team meetings; maintains accurate, timely, and compliant service documentation; manages caseload and scheduling; communicates with school staff and families; supports a positive, student-centered learning environment and adheres to district policies and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current Wisconsin DSPS Occupational Therapist license in good standing
  • Current Wisconsin DPI School Occupational Therapy license (O051)
  • Individual NPI number (required for Medicaid billing beginning in the 2026–2027 school year)
  • Maintenance of all licenses and certifications in good standing throughout employment
  • Ability to meet all district and state onboarding requirements, including background checks
  • Reliable transportation, if travel between school sites is required
  • Ability to comply with FERPA and HIPAA regulations
