Job Summary
Receive, store, and maintain large volumes of dry and refrigerated food and supplies for Craven County Schools. Perform loading and unloading of central food and supplies, then distribute and deliver items to 22 schools. Operate a forklift, use FIFO methods for storage, and document accurate records for refrigeration temperature maintenance. Communicate food quality and delivery issues to the Warehouse Manager II and collaborate on preventative maintenance of school nutrition equipment. Work 30 hours weekly in medium physical environments requiring lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally. Hold a valid NC Driver's License and complete a 10-month full-time term.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school
- Experience with inventory control procedures and warehouse management
- Ability to comprehend procedures
- Ability to work in various inside and outside environments
- Ability to operate machines, motor vehicles, hand tools, and job specific equipment and tools
- Operate a forklift
- Must be able to: Walk, lift, reach, stoop, stand, grasp, balance, climb, kneel and crouch
- Work in various inside and outside environments being subjected to weather changes, noise, vibrations, job hazards and atmospheric conditions
- Use visual acuity required for depth perception and color perception
- Operate machines, motor vehicles, hand tools, and job specific equipment tools
- Determine the accuracy and thoroughness of work
- Observe general surroundings and activities
- Hear sufficiently to accurately perceive information at normally spoken word levels
- Use communication by means of spoken and written words to express or exchange ideas
- Operate a forklift
- Valid NC Driver's License
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in a related field preferred
