Job Summary
Drives a truck to deliver and/or pick up items to Norfolk City Public School cafeterias, satellite locations, and other school-sponsored events; follows routes and delivers within specified time frames, operates truck and lift equipment, completes delivery paperwork, loads/unloads, and performs routine maintenance. Maintains daily contact with school cafeteria staff, principals, and other staff; reviews load sheets, maps routes, securing signatures on delivery tickets, and prepares for next-day deliveries. Requires knowledge of local streets, traffic safety, and the ability to handle heavy equipment and perform light maintenance on food carts and vehicles.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school and some experience driving large trucks; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that would provide the above noted knowledge, skills, and abilities.
