Job Summary
Provide skilled nursing care, manage special needs, and administer prescription medication to students. Deliver emergency medical care, conduct health screenings, and counsel students on medical issues. Interpret medical data to support Individual Education Plans and act as a liaison for complex cases. Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with immunization standards. This role supports student wellness within the Boston Public Schools system, requiring a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Massachusetts RN license.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse
- MA State Dept. of Education School Nurse License (All Levels)
- CPR & First Aid Certification
- Ability to meet the BPS Standards of Effective Practice as outlined above
- Experience working with children and adolescents in public school/agency/human services setting
- Current authorization to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in: support services in a school setting

- high-risk, multi-problem children and adolescents
- fluent in one of BPS' official languages: Spanish, Creole (Cape Verdean), Creole (Haitian), Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, & Somali
