Job Summary
Provide first aid and ongoing school nursing care within a district setting. Administer first aid and nursing care for accidents, seizures, and other educational-related medical issues; perform CPR; conduct health screenings (height, weight, vision, hearing, scoliosis, head lice) and maintain accurate student medical records (including immunizations and medical logs). Refer students to appropriate personnel or clinics, coordinate with community health agencies, and communicate health information to principals, substitutes, teachers, and parents. Administer medications per physician instructions, perform related health duties, conduct trainings for students, parents, and staff, make home visits as required, and ensure compliance with health regulations. Requires a valid Kentucky RN license and a Kentucky driver’s license; duties include collaboration with the District Health Coordinator and maintaining equipment and supplies related to school health services.
