School Nurse - RN

The Vanguard School is seeking a School Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive health services for students in a 10-month, full-time role. Under supervision of the Certified School Nurse, the RN will deliver school health services in accordance with PA School Code and DOH regulations, collaborate with staff, manage medication administration and student health records, perform mandated screenings (BMI, hearing, vision, scoliosis), assist with field trips, and maintain immunization and consent documentation. Responsibilities include emergency care for ill or injured students, coordination with hospital staff when needed, reporting injuries, ensuring staff and student safety, and upholding Vanguard policies while supporting student well-being, health protocols, and confidentiality. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, an active PA RN license, CPR and First Aid certification, and proficiency with computers and clerical tasks; experience in a special education setting is preferred. The role emphasizes collaboration with administrators, colleagues, students, parents, and other stakeholders, adherence to health regulations, and ongoing professional development to meet PDE/state standards.
