Job Summary
Provide direct nursing services, health assessments, first aid, and emergency care for K-12 students; administer medications per physician orders and district policies; develop and maintain Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs); conduct vision and hearing screenings; collaborate with parents, physicians, school staff, and community providers to support student health and academics; participate in Section 504 Plans and IEPs as appropriate; maintain health records to comply with FERPA/HIPAA and district requirements; promote health education, disease prevention, and infection control; monitor immunization compliance and assist with crisis response planning; contract role with up to 40 hours/week, located in Durham, NC.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN) from an accredited nursing program
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the North Carolina Board of Nursing
- Eligibility to work as a School Nurse within North Carolina public schools
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- Fingerprint Clearance and/or Background Check required
