Job Summary
Provide health assessments, first aid, and emergency care for students and staff; administer medications and treatments per physician and school guidelines; monitor and manage chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and allergies; conduct health screenings (vision, hearing, scoliosis) and report findings; collaborate with parents, teachers, and administrators on student health needs; maintain accurate health records in compliance with ISBE, IDPH, and HIPAA regulations; educate students and staff on health, hygiene, and disease prevention; ensure compliance with state immunization requirements and health policies.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (ADN/BSN) from an accredited program
- Current Illinois RN Licensure (Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation - IDFPR)
- Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Nurse Endorsement (required for public school nurses)
- CPR and First Aid Certification
