Job Summary
School Nurse - RN responsibilities include eliciting health histories from students and caregivers, conducting health screens, physical exams, and age-appropriate developmental evaluations; ordering and performing diagnostic tests when needed; developing, implementing, and updating care plans in collaboration with families, schools, physicians, and communities; managing acute and emergency health problems within the school setting; participating in the health education curriculum; and maintaining records. Must hold an active RN license in Michigan, have graduated from an accredited practical nursing program, and possess CPR certification. Prior pediatric experience with trach and vent is required. Position is full-time with a schedule of 7:45 AM–4:15 PM, Monday through Friday for the 2026-2027 school year, located in Jenison, MI.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- active RN license in Michigan
- CPR certification
- Knowledge of state and federal healthcare laws and regulations
- One year pediatric experience with trach and vent
