Job Summary
Administer daily care, medications, and emergency interventions for students while maintaining Individualized Health Plans and Emergency Action Plans. Ensure compliance with state-mandated health screenings, immunization records, and HISD regulations. Support public health efforts in communicable disease control and reporting, serving as a liaison between students, families, school staff, and medical providers. Promote health education and wellness initiatives on campus. Requires an active Texas RN license, CPR/AED certification, and at least one year of clinical experience. Must pass background checks and hold a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Active Texas RN license
- CPR/AED certification
- Must be able to pass HISD background check and onboarding requirements
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation
- At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN preferred)
- School nurse experience
- Tube feeding and Catheterization experience
- Thrive in independent care environments with strong judgment
- Want to support youth health in a non-hospital setting
- Understand chronic conditions like asthma, diabetes, seizures, etc.
- Have strong communication skills and cultural awareness
