School Nurse

Provide professional school nursing services in Nash County Public Schools, planning, implementing, coordinating and evaluating school health services to maximize in-class time, promote health, prevent illness, and support student learning. Responsibilities include applying nursing practice to diverse student needs, serving as a health and safety resource, developing and supervising care plans and IHPs/IEP collaborations, conducting health screenings (vision/hearing), immunization oversight, health data management, and training/unlicensed staff. Collaboration with families, school staff, and community providers is required, with independent practice in alignment with NC laws. Education requirements include current NC RN licensure, with pursuit of BSN and national school nurse certification within 3 years of hire; NC driver’s license and relevant experience in public health or pediatric settings preferred.
