Job Summary
Provide school health services to students, including physical examinations, immunizations, and tests for hearing and vision; assume responsibility for referral of students needing medical or dental care; maintain up-to-date health records and report health matters to parents and school personnel; act in the absence of a physician for student or staff medical needs; participate in developing and implementing the school health program; advise on health-related educational modifications and health screening; coordinate with physicians, clinics, and other agencies; ensure sanitary conditions in schools and stock first aid kits; support in-service training and health-related policy adherence. This role is a full-time nine-month position in Opelika, Alabama, requiring RN licensure, ability to lift 60 pounds, and background check clearance.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed RN
- Background Check Required (HB402 ACT 99-361 Alabama Legislature)
- Ability to lift a minimum of sixty pounds
- Effective communication with principals, teachers and students
- Demonstrated aptitude for completion of assigned tasks
