Job Summary
Provide school-based nursing care with predictable hours and autonomy: administer medications, support chronic conditions (diabetes, asthma, allergies, seizures), develop and implement individualized care plans, respond to emergencies and coordinate MERT, collaborate with administrators, teachers, PT/OT, speech, social work, CNAs, and RNs, participate in 504/IEP meetings, and deliver routine and complex nursing care and public health education within a school-health program.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Michigan RN license
- BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross) within 90 days of employment
- Pediatric, school nursing, acute care, ER, ICU, med-surg, public health, or related nursing experience preferred
- Experience working with or caring for children preferred
- Comfort caring for students with diabetes, asthma, seizures, and other chronic health conditions
- Background check and fingerprinting will be required for this role
