School Nurse

Conduct school health programs including immunization, physical examinations, and sight and hearing testing as directed. Observe students regularly to detect health needs and instruct teachers on screening for health defects. Maintain cumulative health records for all students and report health matters to parents, physicians, and agencies. Administer first aid and assume care authority for injured or ill students when a physician is absent. Assist the school health committee in developing programs and participate in health curriculum committee work. Visit student homes when necessary and implement Board policy on student exclusion and readmission for contagious diseases.
