Job Summary
Provide non-medical counseling and outreach to military families and youth at school sites in Sasebo, Japan. CYB-MFLCs deliver counseling, consultation, and outreach to eligible faculty, staff, parents, children, and youth, with a focus on preventive, solution-focused approaches. Responsibilities include observing and engaging with youth, coaching staff and parents, modeling behavior management techniques, delivering social skills development and social-emotional learning presentations, promoting creativity and positivity with approved materials, building rapport with families at installation events, assisting with transition adjustments to new schools and homes, and participating in regular in-service trainings. The role requires traveling within the installation to various indoor/outdoor locations, adherence to NDAA-related licensure portability, and licensure portability allowing practice across US states. Duty location involves both indoor school environments and outdoor sites, with a U.S. citizen requirement and a background check. Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Behavioral Health Professions (MS/MSW/MA/PhD)
- Valid independent license in the mental health field from any US state or territory (LCSW, MHC, MFT, LPCC, Psychologist)
- US citizenship
- Ability to pass basic background check for employment, a CNACI/NACI clearance (Public Trust)
