Job Summary
Foster communication and problem-solving with parents, administrators, and community partners via email, phone, and site visits to enhance understanding of district procedures. Provide enrollment and transfer assistance, serve as the district's Homeless Coordinator and Foster Care Liaison, and facilitate McKinney-Vento transportation services including setup and billing. Coordinate Title I initiatives, administer budgets, and make home visits to ascertain needs and address truancy. Develop partnerships with neighborhood organizations and businesses to secure resources, increase family participation in district initiatives, and provide interventions to build relationships with families. Record meeting notes, prepare reports, and investigate family needs while remaining up to date on research and trends in education and family engagement.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience working with families, preferably in a school setting and families of diverse social-economic, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds
- MO Teacher Certification (any content area) Required or Bachelor's Degree in Social Work
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in coordinating social services in a school or urban setting
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Experience with social service program management and evaluation
- Demonstrated ability in planning small and large events
- Demonstrated ability in prioritizing, organizing, task completion and decision making
- Knowledge of the purpose, function, and objectives of the District's Court-ordered Integration Program and other related programs
- Knowledge of pertinent federal, state and local policies, rules and regulations
- Ability to utilize various software programs including MS Office, Google Docs and office equipment
